Bekaert Barrier Strand = Safety
With all parking structures comes the need for cost effective barrier products. These barriers are the “safety net” between cars or people falling off the edge of a parking garage.
Bekaert produces various sizes of steel strands that are installed to provide such solutions. Many projects specify products that aren't made to handle the deterioration effects of UV rays. When these products crack & expose the strand below, corrosion is accelerated as moisture builds between the outer layer & the strand acting like a green house.
The image to the right is an example of HDPE coated strand failure due to UV rays.
Bekaert Bezinal® coated barrier strand solves this problem by its dual coating mechanism (ASTM A855) forming a dark grey "patina" or barrier shell over each wire to prolong the life of the barrier in coastal or SO2 rich metropolitan or industrial environments.
